Our History
Originally built in 1870 as a small cabin and later transformed into a grand manor by Linwood B. Phillips Jr., commonly referred to as “LB”, Linwood is truly a piece of history. When LB passed away in 2006, the property stayed private until it went up for auction in 2013. The new owners, Dr. Robert and Mrs. Christine Myers, purchased the estate and renovated the property to bring it back to it’s original glamour with modern updates.
Although the property is owned by a new family, Dr. Myers grandfather and LB were good friends and would often sit together in the mansion by the fireplace discussing real estate and other topics. We know they both would be proud to share this piece of heaven, tucked away in the Great Appalachian Valley, with the community.
Hi, I’m Lizzie!
I am the Event and Wedding Director at Linwood Estate…it’s so nice to meet you! I fell in love with Linwood the first time I saw it. From the history, the gorgeous chandeliers, stunning mansion and grounds—it’s a classic gem unlike anything I’ve ever seen in the area. I feel an enormous sense of pride showing couples around the property and being included in such a big part of their lives.
When I am not fluffing wedding dresses and ironing out event details, you can find me curled up reading a good book or traveling. I enjoy the simple pleasures in life like being outside, sipping hot coffee and going for walks.
Please reach out to me with any questions or to book a tour of the property!
